How to reach us

CAR
A few kms by car connects the Aosta Valley to Piemonte, France and Switzerland. Turin is directly connected by the A5 motorway and is 125 kms from “Le Petit Coq”. Milan is also motorway linked (190 kms), Genova too, at 2 hours 45, all motorway.
To reach Saint-Pierre by motorway: Leave the motorway at the “AOSTA-OVEST – Saint-Pierre” exit, (Aosta-West), not the “Aosta-Est” exit. At the motorway exit you will see the “SS-26” main road. Follow the signs for Courmayeur. Saint-Pierre is the first inhabited area one comes across.
One can also access the Aosta Valley from France, using the Mont-Blanc tunnel at Chamonix, and from Switzerland using the Grand San Bernard tunnel above Martigny. You can also reach the Valley from France through the Mt-Blanc tunnel at Chamonix or through the Grand St. Bernard tunnel from above Martigny, Switzerland. Between June and October the Piccolo San Bernardo pass route is open between Bourg-Saint- Maurice and La Thuile, Italy.

TRAIN (from January 2024, substitute coach service between Aosta and Ivrea.)
To arrive in the Aosta Valley by train is a good alternative to the busy roads, foggy winter months and polluting of the atmosphere. The Aosta railway station is centrally located near the historical town centre. Aosta is connected to both Turin Porta Susa and porta Nuova stations. There are more than twenty trains a day. The time taken is less than 2 hours per trip.
Milano is only 3 hours away with one change in Chivasso.
Once having arrived in Aosta town, one can reach Saint-Pierre by bus or taxi which are both to be found outside the railway station.

TAXI
The taxi rank is outside the railway station in Aosta. Tel: 0165 262010.

COACH
The Aosta Valley is also serviced with coach transport and the companies offer a daily service to and from Milan to Cervinia, Aosta and Courmayeur, and stop on route both in the Aosta Valley and in Piemonte.
There is also a service to/from Turin which connects the “Porta Susa” railway station from where there are also links to Turin Caselle airport and the bus station in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
In the summer season, there are further lines between the Aosta Valley and certain towns in Liguria, Emilia Romagna and other Italian regions, some of which also operate in the ski season.
The local transport companies also run services to/from Chamonix, from Aosta and Courmayeur, and to/from Martigny from Aosta.
